Where the sky is closed

Temporary flight restrictions published by the FAA. An aircraft can switch off its transponder; the airspace closure around what it is doing is still a public document. This is the one page here built from what is written down rather than what is broadcast.

Resist the obvious inference. A restriction says airspace is closed, not what is inside it. The great majority cover airshows, firefighting operations, stadium events and VIP movement.

VIP restrictions are the exception worth understanding. They are published in advance by the FAA precisely so pilots can avoid the airspace, which makes them the most reliable public record here. They mark a protected area around a movement, not the position of anyone inside it, and they say nothing about whether anything is currently flying.
